Getting to know the lamp hour
When the projector is in operation, the duration (in hours) of lamp usage is automatically calculated by the built-in timer. The method of calculating the equivalent lamp hour is as follows:
Equivalent lamp hour
= 1 (hours used in Economic mode) + 3/2 (hours used in Normal mode)
To obtain the lamp hour information:
1. Press MENU on the projector or MENU/EXIT on the remote control,and then press Left/Right key until the Advanced Setup menu is highlighted.
2. Press Down key to highlight Lamp Settings and press ENTER. The Lamp Settings page is displayed.
3. The lamp hour information is shown in the row of Equivalent Lamp Hour.
4. To leave the menu, press MENU on the projector or MENU/EXIT on the remote control.


Extending lamp life
The projection lamp is a consumable item. To keep the lamp life as long as possible, you can do the following settings via the OSD menu.
• Setting Lamp Power as Economic Using Economic mode reduces system noise and power consumption. If the Economic mode is selected, the light output will be reduced and result in darker projected pictures.
Setting the projector in Economic mode also extends the lamp life. To set Economic mode, go to the Advanced Setup > Lamp Settings > Lamp Power menu and press Left/Right .
• Setting Auto Off
This function allows the projector to turn off automatically if no input source is detected after a set period of time. To set Auto Off, go to the System Setup > Auto Off menu and press Left/Right key to select a time period. The time period can be set from 5 to 30 minutes in 5-minute increments. If the preset time lengths are not suitable for your presentation, select Disable. The projector will not automatically shut down in a certain time period.

How to create USB Recovery Media to recover with Microsoft Window 8.1

Below are the instructions for creating the Windows 8 preload Recovery Media for your PC. A minimum 16GB USB flash drive is required to make a complete backup.

  1. Open Recovery applet by pressing the Microsoft Windows key and X.
  2. Select "Control Panel" from the menu.
  3. select "Recovery" from the Control Panel pane as shown below.
  4. Select "Advanced recovery tools" and then select "Create a recovery drive" as shown below.
  5. Click "Yes" at the User Account Control prompt (if prompted Make sure that "Copy the recovery partition from the PC to the recovery drive." is checked as shown below).
  6. Select the appropriate USB Flash Drive. The selected drive will be reformatted during the recovery creation process as shown below.
  7.    

  8. USB format and file copy will begin. This process may take up to hour and will display as shown below. 

  9. Once the Recovery Media creation has completed, there is the option to delete the recovery partition. On most systems, this partition is about 10G in size.
  10. Recovery Media Process is complete and Control Panel can be closed. 
  11. Recovery creation process is complete, USB media can be removed from system
Below are instructions on reloading the PC from the USB Recovery Media.
  1. Insert the USB Recovery media into an available USB port.
  2. Restart or turn on the PC and select Boot menu at the PC startup.
  3. Select the appropriate USB HDD.  The actual name of the device will vary.
  4. Allow the system to boot.  This booting process could take up to several minutes depending on USB 2.0 versus 3.0 system memory.  The screen will be blank during the boot process.
  5. Select "Language".
  6. Select "Keyboard".
  7. Select the "Troubleshoot" option as shown below.
  8. Select "Reset your PC" as shown below.
  9. Click "Next" to continue as shown below.

Replacement Lamp for Epson EX3220 (V13H010L78)

V13H010L78 Replacement Lamp for Epson EX3220 (ELPLP78) The V13H010L78 genuine Epson ELPLP78 ultra high efficiency (UHE) projector lamp is designed to replace the original genuine Epson projector lamp included with: PowerLite 1222 and 1262W; EX3220/EX5220/EX5230/EX6220/EX7220/ VS230/VS330/VS335W projectors.
The Epson projector keeps track of the number of hours the lamp is used and displays this information in the projector's menu system. Replace the lamp as soon as possible when the following occurs: • The projected image gets darker or starts to deteriorate • A message appears when you turn on the projector telling you to replace the lamp • The projector's lamp light is flashing orange and its power light is flashing blue Replacing the projector bulb Before you replace the lamp, let the projector cool down for at least one hour so the lamp will not be hot. Warning: Let the lamp fully cool before replacing it to avoid injury. You can replace the lamp while the projector is mounted to the ceiling, if necessary. 1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord. 2. Allow the projector lamp to cool down for at least one hour. 3. Use the screwdriver included with the replacement lamp to loosen the screw securing the lamp cover.
Warning: If the lamp is broken, glass fragments may be loose inside the lamp chamber. Be careful removing any broken glass to avoid injury. If the projector is installed on the ceiling, stand to the side of the lamp cover and not underneath it; pieces of glass could fall into your eyes or mouth when you open the lamp cover. 4. Slide the lamp cover out and lift it off.
5. Loosen the screws securing the lamp to the projector. The screws do not come all the way out.
6. Grasp the raised section of the lamp and gently pull the lamp out of the projector.
7. Gently insert the new lamp into the projector. If it does not fit easily, make sure it is facing the right way.
Caution: Do not touch any glass on the lamp assembly to avoid premature lamp failure. 8. Push in the lamp firmly and tighten the screws to secure it.
9. Replace the lamp cover and tighten the screw to secure it.
Note: Be sure the lamp cover is securely installed or the lamp will not come on. Reset the lamp timer to zero to keep track of the new lamp’s usage. Resetting the Lamp Timer PowerLite 1222 and 1262W; EX3220/EX5220/EX5230/EX6220/EX7220/ VS230/VS330/VS335W projectors You must reset the lamp timer after replacing the projector's lamp to clear the lamp replacement message and to keep track of lamp usage correctly. Note: Do not reset the lamp timer if you have not replaced the lamp to avoid inaccurate lamp usage information. 1. Turn on the projector. 2. Press the Menu button. 3. Select the Reset menu and press Enter.
4. Select Reset Lamp Hours and press Enter. You see a prompt asking if you want to reset the lamp hours. 5. Select Yes and press Enter. 6. Press Menu or Esc to exit the menus.
