Sony Grand WEGA KDS-R60XBR1 the picture is too dark

Sony Grand WEGA KDS-R60XBR1 Rear Projection HDTV's exceptional color purity is one of the main advantages of using three SXRD image panels (one each for red, green, and blue signals). This 3-chip design ensures rich, radiant, rock-steady color.

If the Sony Grand WEGA KDS-R60XBR1 the picture is too dark Follow this procedure to troubleshoot.
  1. Verify that the video connection cables are properly connected to the Sony KDS-R60XBR1 HDTV and the video source.
  2. Change the Picture Mode and/or adjust the Brightness, Picture, or Backlight settings in the TV's menu to the desired level. NOTE: When a Sony KDS-R60XBR1 HDTV is in a store they are set up for Shop Front display settings which are very bright and vivid. However, some Sony® TVs may be shipped with more energy-friendly settings to comply with energy savings programs such as Energy Star®. Depending on such settings, the picture brightness level can be higher or lower.
  3. Some TVs have a Power Saving Mode; the picture will become brighter if the Power Saving Mode is turned off.
  4. Some TVs have a Light Sensor; the picture will become brighter or lower depending on room lighting conditions. Turning off the Automatic Brightness Control may increase picture brightness.
  5. View programming from a different source, such as a DVD player or VCR, to see if the issue is being caused by the device providing the signal to the TV. NOTE: If the dark picture issue is displayed when viewing from one device only, the dark picture issue is being caused by that device, not the TV. Contact the device manufacturer for additional troubleshooting information.
  6. Unplug the AC power cord for 30 seconds to reset the TV.
  7. Replacing the lamp.
